Preparations: 500- and 750-mg tablets
Dose: 1,000 mg/day in a single or divided doses. Dose may be increased to 1,500–2,000 mg/day in divided doses.
Clinical Pharmacology: Well absorbed after oral administration. Nabumetone is an inactive prodrug that is metabolized to the 6-methoxy-2-naphthyl acetic acid. Hepatic metabolism. Half-life is 20–30 hours (even longer in the elderly).
