Preparations
Capsules: 25-, 50-, 75 mg
Capsules, sustained release: 100-, 150- and 200 mg
Dose: Immediate release: 50–75 mg three to four times daily; maximum 300 mg/day. Sustained release: 200 mg once daily (maximum). Lower doses in elderly.
Clinical Pharmacology: Well absorbed after oral administration; hepatic metabolism and renal excretion of metabolites. Half-life is 1–4 hours.
