Preparations
Capsules: 200- and 300 mg
Tablets: 400- and 500 mg
Tablets, extended release (XL): 400-, 500-, 600 mg
Dose: 200–400 mg two or three times daily; doses above 1000 mg/day have not been adequately evaluated. Extended release 400–1,000 mg once daily.
Clinical Pharmacology: Well absorbed after oral administration; hepatic metabolism and renal excretion of metabolites; half-life 7 hours
Comments: Compared with traditional, older NSAIDs, somewhat COX-2 “preferential”
