Preparations: 150- and 200-mg tablets

Dose: 150–200 mg twice daily

Comments: Claims by some that sulindac is less nephrotoxic than other NSAIDs are based on limited and controversial evidence from short-term studies.

Clinical Pharmacology: Well absorbed after oral administration, sulindac is a prodrug. After ingestion, there is hepatic metabolism to an active sulfide metabolite, which later undergoes renal elimination. Half-life of parent drug is 7 hours and half-life of metabolite is 18 hours.
